Welcome to the Devlog

Why this devlog exists, what you'll actually find here, and what's coming next for Minnich.Awesome.

This is the first post on the Minnich.Awesome devlog, so it's probably worth explaining what this section actually is before it's anything else: a place to write about the decisions behind what's on this site, not just announce that something shipped. The Update Log already covers the "what changed" side of things in short bullet points. This is the "why," in full sentences.

Why start this now

Short version: I applied to run ads on the site and got turned down for "low value content." That stung a little, but it was also fair — a lot of this site's pages were, and still are, mostly navigation and game embeds with very little actual writing on them. A game speaks for itself once you're playing it, but a crawler (or a person deciding whether the site is worth their time) doesn't get that context from a tile and a two-line description.

So the plan is to fix that honestly instead of padding pages with filler. Every game's description and tips section got a real rewrite recently. Next is this devlog: actual posts about what got built, what broke, and what changed my mind partway through — the stuff that normally only lives in commit messages.

What you'll find here

Mostly three kinds of posts: notes on new games and tools as they launch, write-ups on bigger reworks and the reasoning behind them, and general site news when something structural changes. Nothing scheduled on a strict calendar — a post goes up when there's actually something worth explaining, not to hit a quota.

What's next

More posts, starting with a proper look back at some of the bigger recent builds — the Player Hub rewards system and the road to getting Top Ace's boss fights working are both good candidates. If there's something specific about the site you're curious about, the About page has ways to reach me.
