Password Generator
Generate cryptographically-random passwords or memorable passphrases.
This Password Generator creates strong, random passwords using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator — not a weaker pseudo-random source — so the output is suitable for actual account security rather than just looking random. A length slider (4 to 64 characters) and toggles for numbers and symbols let you match whatever a specific site's password rules require, and a strength badge with an entropy readout shows how resistant the generated password actually is to guessing.
For situations where a password needs to be typed or read aloud rather than pasted — setting up a router, sharing a guest WiFi password, or a password manager's master password — a passphrase mode switches to generating a sequence of real words instead of random characters, trading a little bit of raw entropy for something meaningfully easier for a human to remember and retype correctly.
How to Use Password Generator
- Drag the Length slider (4-64 characters) to set how long the password should be.
- Toggle Include numbers and Include symbols on or off to control the character set.
- Flip on Passphrase mode to generate a hyphenated multi-word passphrase instead — this disables the numbers/symbols toggles.
- Click Generate to roll a new password or passphrase with the current settings.
- Check the strength badge and entropy readout under the result field to see how strong it is.
- Click Copy to copy the result to your clipboard.
