ASCII Art Generator
Turn text into block-letter banners, or an image into ASCII art.
Click to choose an image
or paste one with Ctrl+V
This ASCII Art Generator covers both classic ASCII-art use cases from one page: a text banner mode that renders any typed text as large block letters built out of ASCII characters (the kind used for terminal splash screens, code comments, and readme headers), and an image-to-ASCII mode that converts an uploaded photo or graphic into a grid of characters whose density approximates the image's light and dark areas.
Both outputs are plain text, so they paste cleanly into a terminal, a code comment, a Discord message, or anywhere else that only accepts monospaced text — no image hosting or special rendering required to actually use the result.
How to Use ASCII Art Generator
- Switch between the Text Banner and Image to ASCII tabs at the top.
- In Text Banner, type a short word or phrase into the Text field and set a Fill Char — the block-letter output fills in automatically.
- In Image to ASCII, click the dropzone to choose an image or paste one with Ctrl+V.
- Pick an output width (40, 70, 100, or 140 characters) and a style — Standard, Blocks, or Binary — and toggle Invert if the tones look backwards.
- Click Copy under either panel to grab the plain-text result for pasting elsewhere.
